There really isn’t much that can beat the summer in Sarnia-Lambton.

There is an endless list of things to do - but sometimes choice paralysis can get you down! To help, we’ve pulled together a Summer Bucket List for Sarnia-Lambton. The Bucket List includes over 20 things to do with friends, family or on your own. How many items can you cross off?

  1. Visit the beach. We thought we’d start the list off with an easy one! With so many to choose from (Canatara, Pinery, Grand Bend, Ipperwash…) might we suggest a visit to them all?
  2. Go camping. Get two for one by taking the family camping and swimming at The Pinery.
  3. Eat on a patio. Oh patios - how we missed you!
  4. Cook over a campfire. The Country Butcher has housemade sausage that will elevate your campfire meal.
  5. Drink Sangria. Red? White? It doesn’t matter because Alton Farms Estate Winery has the perfect bottle, whatever your preference.
  6. Make the perfect summer playlist. We have even got some suggestions on our #local Spotify playlist you can borrow!
  7. Go for a bike ride. No bike? Visit the Great Lakes Bicycle Company. Andrew and his team will outfit you with your favourite two-wheeled ride.
  8. Read a good book. Not sure where to start? Read up on local books and authors the #local guide to local books
  9. Check out three new parks. In the City of Sarnia, there are 95 parks alone! Imagine how many there are in the county. As a family, explore other places to play and visit.
  10. Cook a family meal. Challenge yourself to a meal made entirely from items you pick up at a local Farmers' Market.
  11. Play a round of golf. Full size or mini counts! Too hot for you to hit the links? Reserve one of Sticks & Stones Indoor Golf stations for a fun night out with friends or family!
  12. Have a family ice cream night. Whether you are in Sarnia for a visit to Ice Cream Galore, or stopping by Rustics Scoops in Corunna or Petrolia - we believe there is no such thing as the wrong ice cream order.
  13. Learn a new board game. Ann and her team at The Toy Corner can set you up with fun for the whole family.
  14. Have a picnic. Spread a blanket out in the backyard or in a park, and enjoy a meal outdoors. Drop by The Cheese Wedge to add some delicious charcuterie to your basket.
  15. Visit a splash pad. Like a pool, but splashing is definitely allowed!
  16. Grow your own herbs. There is still time to start that little herb garden. Visit Cynthia and her extensive collection of herbs at Forest Glen Herb Farm to get started.
  17. Watch the sunset. We might be biased, but Sarnia-Lambton has got some of the nicest sunsets around!
  18. Take some family photos. Capture those great tans, smiling faces and family memories before heading back to school this fall. Sierra Hart is our go-to for all things photography. Visit her Facebook page to learn more and book a session.
  19. Go on a road trip. Getting out on the open road with a great playlist (see #6), good drinks (Coffee Lodge’s ice tea), and a sense of adventure is an excellent summertime activity. See what you can discover around Lambton County.
  20. Enjoy a tasting flight. Whether it’s wine, beer or cider, there are plenty of places around Sarnia-Lambton ready to serve you something new and delicious.
  21. Snack on some bridge fries. They’re crispy, salty and covered in vinegar. These taste like summer.
  22. Visit Germain Park. Take in the beautiful flowers while enjoying a stroll through the garden.
